Class Schedules
The Learning Exchange is at its core a four-day-a-week-school with Fridays off or for offered electives. However, it is totally adjustable to meet the needs of each family and student. How is this possible? The solution can be found in an individualized weekly schedule. The only thing that is fixed is when we meet (we follow Cobb County School's schedule except we end a week earlier) and when classes begin and end during the day. Weekly we produce a schedule that tells each student exactly what will happen for each subject he/she is signed up for. This means that if you,as a parent, choose to "home school" two days a week, the schedule will reflect in detail the work your student has to do during the home school days. In addition, the schedule is modified for each student to reflect what subjects each student will study during the class. And of course, if there are changes during the semester or if the student needs additional individual activities for the weekend, for instance, it can be speedily implemented. A truly individualized system to meet the needs of each family and student.
Our objective is to relieve parents from the frustration of monitoring homework by offering a no-homework solution. This means less books to carry back and forth, when the student is picked up evening and week-end can be spent together, the student will have a chance to be a kid. Of course there will be situtaions when the student need or rather want to do work at home, but our aim is to limit that without going back on our academic requirements. This alternative is only valid for students who choose our standard four day a week schedule.
